Hello. We’re Equalis Financial and we have the financial help you’re looking for.
Focused whole-heartedly on the principle of equality, we’re an independent, fee-only firm specializing in financial planning and investment management services for the LGBTQ community, women, and young professionals.
We believe such individuals deserve fair access to financial advisement that fits their unique needs with sexual orientation, marital status, or net worth appearing as no basis for discrimination. This is too often the case in the black-and-white world of financial planning, but not here.
Here, our mission is to empower the individual - individuals like you - to be an active and equal partner in your financial planning, regardless of immediate or long-term goals. We work with you so you can live your best life.
What Sets Us Apart
Equalis Financial was founded by a member of the LGBT community, a woman, and a once-young, now-experienced professional. Your needs will be attended to with compassion and understanding.
This means we do not sell any investment products, represent any product or company, and do not receive any commissions. We work strictly for you and are paid only by you, setting us apart from some of the big guys out there.
It’s our fiduciary duty to do what’s best for you, which requires us to put your interests ahead of our own. Seems like a no-brainer and a matter of decency, but it’s unfortunately not the standard.
Everyone deserves access to financial advice regardless of sexual orientation, gender, net worth, or any other excuse for denying someone equal treatment. We level the playing field.
Like our office? You’re in it. We are location independent, meaning we use web-based tools and technology to allow us to work as a virtual advisor and assist you no matter your physical location. This means more convenient, anytime, anywhere help for you.
“All you need is the plan, the road map and the courage to press on to your destination.”
How We Help
Personal finance is our passion, which is lucky for those who feel lost or anxious when facing the game of finances.
The planning process is like constructing a map to help you get from point A to point B. Think of Equalis as your personal Google Maps or Waze app for your finances. You tell us the destination and we evaluate the possible routes, narrowing it down to two or three that make sense for you.
But what if you decide you want to stop at a mall on the way to do some shopping or take a break for a meal? What happens if you get a flat tire or the engine blows? What if you decide to completely change your final destination?
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a co-pilot to help you re-route or call in re-enforcements? Well, that’s Equalis. We’re your co-pilot.
Whether you are considering buying a home, planning for a child’s education, making sense of employee benefits, or charting the path to financial freedom, we’ve got you covered at every turn.
It’s difficult to invest on your own when considering how complex our financial situations can be. We will customize and manage your portfolio with a carefully planned investment strategy to ensure that you maintain the direction and discipline you need to reach your goals.
"Equality is the soul of liberty; there is in fact, no liberty without it."

Who We Work With
Our doors are open to all in addition to our expertise and specialized knowledge in working with particular demographics.
While having the fundamental right to marry has simplified the financial lives of those of us who are members of the LGBTQ community, we’re not out of the woods yet.
Research shows that wage inequality, job insecurity, and housing rights issues still cause doubt and anxiety around financial security. Despite legal access, many same-sex couples are choosing not to marry due to family concerns, religious persecution, or preference. We understand the emotional component and have the expertise to plan around the legal challenges of these unique situations.
Our experiences have shown that often times women are more reluctant than their male counterparts to discuss their finances, affecting their overall confidence with the process. This problem is both generational and cultural.
We want you to understand your finances and put education at the center or our process. We aim to empower you to live confidently.
For those just establishing their careers, they can run into with our competitors the notion of: “Don’t have a million dollars? Sorry, you can’t be a client!”
How are you –or how is anyone- supposed to reach any sort of security if you don’t have access to the resources and guidance to help you get there?
We all have to start somewhere and we commend those who are being proactive and planning for their financial future. We want to start you with a solid foundation that can be readily built upon.
